    Hi Sean, is it safe to use this css code to change the sidebar color in the functions.php (edd) Starter theme?

    Sidebar {
    /* background #808284 */
    }

    And also side borders for the sidebars in the page width style.

    Hey, Ray. That’s not proper CSS syntax at all so it definitely won’t work. Likewise, you don’t put CSS in the functions.php file. You’ll crash your entire site like that. CSS goes in the style.css file of your child theme.

    Proper CSS structure implementing that color as your background look more like this:

    #sidebars {
            background: #808284;
    }

    That’ll change the sidebar background of all sidebars on your site… whether you’re using one sidebar or two.

    To narrow it down to just one of the sidebars, you’d use this for sidebar one:

    .sidebar-1 {
            background: #808284;
    }

    and this for sidebar two:

    .sidebar-2 {
            background: #808284;
    }

    Ray, I was surfing the web seeing who’s on Volatyl and I came across your site. Make sure you turn off the Standard Menu in the Volatyl Options if you’re not going to use it. The responsive menu shows up on small screens because you have it turned on but it’s empty because you haven’t assigned a menu to it.

    Hey Sean, thanks for the heads up. I’m definitely going to use the standard menu.
