WordPress has built-in functionality that allows you to set and display a featured image for each one of your posts. It’s pretty cool.
All you have to do to set a featured image is create a new post and set the featured image in the “Featured Image” section of the edit screen.
WordPress hides some meta boxes by default. So, you may need to click the “Screen Options” tab in the upper-right corner of the Edit Post screen and check the “Featured image” box.
With your images uploaded to your posts saved posts, go to Dashboard => Appearance => Volatyl Options => Content (tab) => Post Settings => Display Featured Images and check the box.
Once your images are set and featured images are turned on, they will display on your blog home below the article title and above the content. It will not appear on the actual article page.
Featured images display on both full posts and excerpts.
